What’s new in the latest Grow a Garden 2 update?!
A fresh update has arrived, bringing several new features and items to discover! Players can now use the Double or Nothing selling system, try out the new Player Magnet and Megaphone Gears, and grow the brand-new Venom Spitter Plant. The update also introduces a mysterious new pet, the beautiful Aurora Borealis weather event, Pet Server Teleporter Gears, and improved anti-cheat protection to keep the game fair for everyone.

Common, Uncommon and Rare Seeds
There are 3 Common and Uncommon seeds and 6 Rare seeds. They are cheap and don’t yield much, but they are essential for your evolution. Baby Cactus and Horned Melon are bought with Robux. Carrot, Tulip, and Bamboo seeds are collected only once, unlike the others which can be collected as many times as you want.
Epic and Legendary Seeds
There are 7 Epic seeds and 5 Legendary seeds. Here you’ll need to spend a bit more time playing, as they aren’t very cheap and are about average for the game. The only seed in these rarities that can only be harvested once is the mushroom. The Glowing Mushroom and Poison Ivy seeds can only be obtained with robux.
Mythic and Super Seeds
Currently, these are the most valuable seeds in Grow a Garden 2. There are 4 Mythic seeds and 2 Super seeds. You need a lot of playtime to be able to buy them. They will appear very rarely in the shop, which also makes it difficult. The only plant that can be collected only once is the Venus Flytrap. And the Ghost Pepper seed can only be obtained with robux.
From Common Pets to Legendary Pets
- Frog: Jumps around your garden and gives you an extra +5 jump height, making it easier to move around and reach higher spots.
- Bunny: Loves hopping through your garden and increases your movement speed by +5, helping you get around much faster.
- Owl: Keeps watch during the night, increasing your vision range by 12.5%. It will also let out a loud hoot whenever a rare pet appears.
- Deer: Roams peacefully through your garden and helps your plants grow 10% faster than normal.
- Robin: Flies across your garden searching for ripe fruit. Occasionally, it will leave behind seeds, although rarer fruits have a lower chance of producing them.
- Bee: Constantly patrols the area and attacks unwanted visitors. When it finds an intruder, it scrambles their controls and covers their screen with a red effect, making it harder for them to navigate.
Mythical and Super Pets
- Monkey: Swings through your garden and, from time to time, grabs ripe fruit and delivers it directly to you.
- Golden Dragonfly: Soars above your garden and increases the natural chance of plants and fruit becoming Golden by 2x.
- Unicorn: Wanders around your garden and makes Rainbow plants and fruit twice as likely to appear naturally.
Bear: Protects your garden by charging at intruders, holding them in place, and tossing them away. - Raccoon: Becomes active after dark, sneaking into unattended gardens to steal fruit. It also increases your stealing capacity by +25.
- Black Dragon: Circles above your garden and attacks intruders with powerful flames, leaving them burning for a short time.
- Ice Serpent: Glides around your garden and unleashes icy breath on trespassers, freezing them in place.
Additional information
- Currently, there are only 2 plant mutations that are not climate-related: the golden mutation, which grants 10 times more energy, has a 1% chance of appearing in a single fruit and a 0.1% chance of appearing in the entire plant. The other is the rainbow mutation, which grants 30 times more energy, has a 3% chance of appearing in a single fruit and a 0.3% chance in the entire plant.
- The day lasts 7 minutes and 30 seconds, sunset 30 seconds, and night lasts 2 minutes. Four moon phases can appear at night: Normal 69%, Gold 13%, Rainbow 6%, and Blood 2%.
- Regarding climates, 5 different climates can appear. Rain increases the speed at which your plants grow. And the others: lightning, rainbow, snow, and shooting stars, can generate mutations.
Opinion
I tried Grow a Garden 1 a while back, but it never really clicked with me. The game felt a bit overwhelming, and I often found myself confused about what I was supposed to be doing. Grow a Garden 2, however, gave me a much better first impression. The gameplay is easier to understand, and everything feels more straightforward. One thing I particularly enjoyed was the way crops grow. Watching plants develop in real time adds a nice visual touch and makes the garden feel more alive.
That said, I’m not completely sold on the progression system. Earning money can feel slow, and there were times when it seemed like I wasn’t making much progress despite spending a lot of time playing. Since Grow a Garden 2 is still a fairly new game, I’m hoping this is something that gets improved through future updates.
Aside from that, the game shares many features with other popular Roblox farming games. You’ll find different plant sizes, mutations, gear, pets, and plenty of collectibles to chase. The biggest difference is the ability to steal plants from other players. Personally, that’s not a feature I enjoy very much. While it certainly adds competition, it can also be frustrating for players who simply want to relax and focus on building their garden.
